*It is important to understand that the success of each building block fully depends on the cultivation of the other pillars.

WHAT OUR DEFINITION OF RESILIENCE IS:

Resilience or resiliency is the ability to recover quickly from difficulties, stress, rejection, and negative situations.

WHY RESILIENCE IS SO IMPORTANT:

Resilience is a strong and must-have trait in today’s world. It increases your mental and emotional buoyancy, which helps you keep moving forward. Furthermore, it gives you the ability to persevere until the desired result is achieved.

Studies show that the benefits of resilience can help you better deal with everyday stressors. You will be able to return to your normal positive mood after something bad happens in your life. You will recover faster when unexpectedly experiencing something negative. Dealing with less stress will also ensure a better chance of living a longer life in good health.

Without mental resilience, we are on the verge of collapse in our education system.

Due to social media, anxiety, depression, and suicide have risen over 58% among our youth. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for ages 10-24. This is devastating and can be prevented from happening in the future. Mental resilience must become our immediate focus to combat cyberbullying, rejection, lack of connection, comparison, and overwhelm.

270,000 educators leave the education system annually because of burnout. Rock My Campus helps overcome exhaustion and anxiety.

Our teachers, admin, and counselors are reporting over 78% burnout rates

with over 270,000 educators leaving the profession annually. These stats are pre-Covid and we all know that these numbers have spiked.

Although many teachers are standing strong and pushing through, without help to build mental resilience, they will cross a mental threshold and eventually quit.

WHERE RESILIENCE FITS INTO YOUR PERSONAL BRAND:

Your personal brand is YOU! It is everything that makes you who you are and how others experience you.

Here's the thing, most people never experience the real YOU because it's buried behind insecurities, fears, traumas, anxiety, overwhelm, and lack of self-awareness and self-development.

It is through your personal brand that people decide what kind of person you are and if they are interested in engaging with you. Resilience must be reflected in your personal brand. It shows that you are not a quitter. It demonstrates your ability to persevere through adversity. Showing people you can overcome obstacles and hurdles, gives them confidence that they can rely on you to finish the job. They will know that you are not going to run at the first sign of trouble. Most of all, when your band is resilient, it demonstrates experience as a tried and true warrior who will stay the course no matter the difficulties.

HOW TO DEVELOP RESILIENCE:

Some people are born with a strong ability to bounce back from difficult situations while statistics show that most battle it and are losing the fight. It is more than just “it’s a choice so get up and keep going”. Developing strong resilience takes mastering all the ROCKSTAR building blocks. There is no one antidote.

Developing and implementing resilience is a life-long practice that will be tested over and over again. Just when we think we have everything under control, life throws us a curveball that can knock us off our feet. Because of that, it is important to build a foundation that will help you through trying times.

In order to build a strong footing, we concentrate on the five core areas of Mindfulness, Well-Being, Connections, Self-Awareness, and Positive Impact.

Being mindful helps develop resilience, a building block of the R.O.C.K.S.T.A.R. Path to SEL
  • Develop a core group of people you can depend on through good times and bad

  • Take vacations from social media and have meaningful connections with others

  • Get adequate sleep, eat healthily, and do something active every hour

  • Affirm the good things in our life along with the negative

  • Practice gratitude daily

  • Develop personal boundaries for yourself and others

  • Do things that positively impact others

TOOLS TO IMPLEMENT RESILIENCE:

We believe that resilience is the key to your overall success, happiness, mental health, confidence, and impact on the world. We also believe that personal expansion should be exciting and experiential. That is why, in our Rock My Campus Professional Development Rockshops and Student Rockshops, we approach self-management in a fun and interactive way.
